The thought of me doing improv used to be exciting, and terrifying. I remember being so amazed by the greats, I still am - Ella Fitzgerald being one master that comes to mind. But the thought of me doing it, resulted in feelings of near panick. I began by trying a little improv on my own, I felt so clumsy and awkward. It's taken me years to get to where i am now, and i am so so thankful. I know i still have a long way to go on this wonderful path i am so thankful to be on, and that's wonderful. I am finally at a place where when I sing in the moment, without care for words, structure, performance, I am feeling liberated and like I'm sharing something so real and worthy, even if it's just the tree's an subtle endless reverberating around the universe of my frequencies. I don't always sound good, some times i sound pretty awful. Sometimes i sound great - it's all ok - I am no longer worried about sounding bad, a fear that so many of us share. I have released this fear, I have released the shame. It is so therapuetic to sing, and play according to my feelings in the moment, what a wonderful practice. What once instilled so much fear in me has become something that instills courage, peace and self love. Improv. Flow
